3D Animals Screensaver 1.0

From this application’s name you can easily figure out two things. You can figure out that 3D Animals Screensaver is, well, a screensaver, and you can figure out that this screensaver has something to do with 3D animals. There are a couple of things though that you cannot figure out by simply taking a look at the application’s name.

You can’t for example figure out that 3D Animals Screensaver is offered free of charge, or that it is a classic slideshow screensaver. By default it shows an image for 10 seconds, then switches to another image, displays that for another 10 seconds, then switches to another image, and so on and so on. You can’t figure out that this screensaver is made up of 17 images depicting all sorts of animals, from hippos to elephants, horses and even dragons.

The fact that you can customize your 3D Animals Screensaver experience is not obvious either. From the screensaver’s settings pane you can customize the following settings:

- Select the order in which the images will be displayed.
- Select the amount of time an image will be displayed before transitioning to the next image.
- Select what transition effects the screensaver will use.
- Select the speed of the aforementioned transition effects.
- Adjust the screensaver’s behavior. You can set it up so the screensaver doesn’t exit when you move the mouse for example.

Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, 3D Animals Screensaver provides support for Windows 95, 98, 2000, ME, NT, Windows XP and Windows Vista. Tested the screensaver on Windows 7 and it seems to work fine on this Windows version as well.
Limitations – there are none since this application is freeware. You can use it free of charge for as long as you want.

• When the installation process completes, Internet Explorer (IE, not your default browser) launches and you are directed to the dwalls.com site.
• Creates desktop shortcuts without asking (a preview 3D Animals Screensaver link and a 3D Screensavers link that leads to ssaver.org).
• Changes Internet Explorer’s home page to knightstar.net; not your default browser’s homepage, IE’s homepage.
